What Changed?

Casa de Olé!

Up So what changed with the Casa de Olé A/C system in 2003?

If you have stayed at Casa de Olé (or other similar properties in this area) in the past,  you may know that the original A/C equipment ran exclusively on propane (including the big fan chiller units outside the house).  Most homes on the Encanto Beach are designed the same way.  Between the two chiller units AND the generator, the equipment drank a LOT of propane.  What this meant was that it cost $120, or more, per day to cool the house to a reasonable level.

During the winter months, the A/C system was completely redesigned, then the old equipment was pulled out, and new, high-efficiency, 12 SEER  freon units were installed.  In addition, the existing generator was replaced with a higher-efficiency version.  With the new system, only the new generator will use propane, thereby dramatically reducing the cost.

What this means to you is the system runs MUCH more cost-effectively and reliably.  We give you a $50/day propane allowance included in your daily summer rental fee.  Any additional usage about this amount is your responsibility.

Of course, your costs will always be dependent on usage.  For example, leaving the system set to a low temperature, with doors and windows open, can quickly erase much of these improvements.

So, come stay at Casa de Olé and enjoy the finest beach, accommodations, cooking, and new A/C comfort!
